Sunshine and Shadows - Getting Close to the Finish Line!

This latest update was taken last week, but I just wanted to post my progress on here.  I have done quite a bit more, and I think I only have about 900 or so stitches left to do.  I will try to post another update before I post the final finished piece.

Celtic Knot - Ink Circles - Finished

So this was a freebie from Ink Circles that I started as part of the Crazy 15 in 15 Facebook group in 2013.  I really had no plans to do anything with it, I really just wanted to try out Ink Circles on something small.  And I also wanted to try out variegated threads and see how these particular colors looked together.  All in all, it isn't really what I envisioned, but at least I know what they look like now.

Promise Me - Finished!

So I got quite a bit of stitching done this past weekend, and I managed to finish Promise Me on Sunday night.  I tried to make a post that evening but was having internet issues so gave it up.  This is my second finish of the year, and I have to admit that is quite an achievement for me.  I can go a few months without stitching at all because of work and being too tired when I get home, so I very seldom have even one finish a year, much less two!

Update on Promise Me

This is my latest progress on Promise Me, before I start stitching for the weekend.  I hope to get quite a bit more done by the end of the weekend and hopefully finish it up in the next week or so.  It really does stitch up quickly, if only I would spend a bit more time stitching.

Promise Me - Lizzie Kate

I saw this chart and immediately thought of making it for my daughter, and I hope to get it finished AND framed by Christmas.  I am almost positive I can get it stitched, but the framing bit has me a bit worried.  I am not all that great at following through and actually framing or turning my projects into something else.  So we shall see.

Here is my progress so far.

I started it on the linen it called for, and let me just say it almost sent me over the edge.  I have stitched on linen in the past and never had any problems with it, but this piece of fabric was just awful.  Maybe it was because it has been many years sinced I've stitched on linen and my eyesight is not what it used to be, I just don't know.  This is what I had done so far until I decided to change out the fabric to lugana.

Still plugging away on linen.  Progress on September 1, 2014

And then I started over on lugana.  Progress on September 7, 2014

Sunshine and Shadows - Barbara & Cheryl

I have been working on this very old WIP for the last couple of months.  It was started somewhere around 1998 or 1999 by my now ex-husband, and since it was one I wanted doing, I decided to go ahead and finish it myself.  I started working on a bit in 2000 or so but then put it down when other projects caught my eye.  I've picked it up off and on since then, I just put it down a couple of weeks ago to start working on something else.

But let me show you my progress so far.

This is about what it looked like when I started working on it.  This is only the middle section of it because apparently when I first took the picture, I didn't know how to get the full pic in the shot.  Go figure.  I had only done about 10 hours of it, and if I remember right, I put in the green parts that are scattered.  Everything else he had done.

Progress after about 20 hours of my stitching time.

QS Mystic Garden - HAED

I started this project at the beginning of 2013 as part of the HAED Bulletin Board SAL, and I didn't stitch too much on it during 2013.  I did finally pull it back out in 2014 and fnished it.  This was not my first HAED to ever start, but it IS my very first HAED finish!

Here are my progress pics throughout my time stitching on it.

Update on 2014 Challenge

Well it seems that I only make about one post a year on this blog, so I need to do something to change all that.  So I will start by showing an update on my progress for each of the ones I started in the 2014 Challenge.  As  you can see, I doubled and tripled up on some days, and I still only managed to start 13 of them.  I'm not sure why I even attempt this because I am an accountant, and year end close can last for two weeks, or more.  It isn't an excuse, but I work longer hours during that time and by the time I get home in the evenings, I am too tired to stitch.  But I am attempting it again in 2015!!
